Introducing Our New Brand, Dacor
Dacor has a rich history in the appliance industry. The beginnings of Dacor began in 1933 when Stanley M. Joseph opened a small appliance store in Southern California. Frustrated with the ventilation hoods available, he began manufacturing his own in 1948 under the company name Stanthony Corp. These were self-contained ventilation hoods and were the first complete system for the residential market.
Dacor continued to introduce new, innovative appliances to the appliance industry under the name Stanthony Corp. However, it was not until 1965 that Dacor came into existence. This was founded by Stanley's two sons, Michael and Anthony. They ultimately purchased the company from their father in 1982.
After the two brothers purchased the business from their father, the first innovative product that was created were Drop-In Gas Cooktops. This enabled consumers to move the cookware seamlessly across burners.
Two years later, they introduced the 30 inch Self-Cleaning Pure Convection Wall Oven in 1987. This provided a larger capacity for ovens.
Today, Dacor is still innovative. In 2013, after noticing that more and more millennials were entering the marketplace, they introduced the first smart oven called the Discover iQ Wall Oven. This integrated a wireless tablet.
In 2014, global network of culinary education, Le Cordon Bleu endorsed Dacor with a Le Cordon Bleu seal of excellence. Due to this, they now feature Dacor as their prime appliance brand in their kitchen and cooking demonstration classes.
In August 2016 it was announced that Samsung purchased the company.
