True Manufacturing: Founded in St. Louis
Did you know that True Manufacturing began in St. Louis? If you want to keep your appliance purchases local, this is the appliance brand for you.
True Manufacturing began in 1945 with Bob Trulaske, his father Frank and his brother, Art. They built the first 40 cu. ft upright refrigerator in their garage which was located on Lenox Avenue in St. Louis.
In 1948, one of their first refrigerators was used to keep beverages cool in a local neighborhood bar. One day, a traveling 7UP salesperson stopped by that bar and saw their innovative refrigerator. After noticing that it did not require expensive blocks of ice, he demanded to know who built the refrigerator.
If was then that True's legacy was born.
Today, True Manufacturing offers commercial and residential appliances. However, C. Bennett only carries their residential appliances.
