Why it is Important to Service your Fireplace
It is very important for every fireplace to be cleaned on a annual basis. At C. Bennett, we like to recommend having your fireplace serviced during the summer and early fall before it gets cold. You might question, why summer... especially with St. Louis weather. Well, it's simple - by having your fireplace serviced in the summer, you can beat the rush and be prepared once late Fall hits.
What Will Technicians Check For?
1) Dirty Glass doors
If you need your glass doors cleaned we can definitely help with that. We also check to ensure that the glass is not chipped or scratched as that can impede the heat output of the fireplace.
2) Deteriorating logs
Log inserts can deteriorate overtime especially if they are low quality logs. Our technicians can check for this to ensure that your logs are maintained. Also - we suggest that if there are dust particles on your gas logs simply use a clean paint brush to dust them off. Do not wash them as they are hand painted and they will deteriorate.
3) Exterior and interior
In addition to checking and cleaning debris from within the fireplace, they also check the gas ignition to the logs. It's very important for these to be working. You should also check your carbon monoxide detectors especially near Fall and Winter months.
Would you like to schedule an appointment?
Here's the information we will need from you:
1) Your name, address, phone number, make and model of your fireplace, and what seems to be the issue. If parts need to be ordered, it's very important to specify what your make and model is. Depending on the make and model of your fireplace we can see if those parts are still being made or discontinued.
